Military Vehicle Projects list REC projects related to the Federal Excess Personal Property (FEPP) Program. Designs for converting U.S. Military vehicles to wildland fire engines are found here.
Other Water Handling Projects includes projects concerning water handling devices or equipment, except those found in the military vehicle conversion listing above. Engine designs based on commercial truck chassis, nozzle systems and guides for water tank designs are found here.
Line Construction Equipment features line construction tools and equipment projects. This includes fireline plows, hand tools and power blowers.
Combination Line and Water Handling projects deal with equipment that includes both line construction and water handling characteristics. An example is a forestry skidder modified with both a plow and water tank.
Fire Chemical related projects are found here. The category includes tests of fire chemicals such as foams, long-term or short-term retardants. It also includes chemical delivery equipment like proportioners and Compressed Air Foam units.
Safety and Other Projects lists safety and health related newsnotes and projects. This includes information about vehicle airbags, ATV use and tractor seat cover flammability. Also, items that do not fit other categories have been placed here.
Project Report Summaries list every REC publication with a brief summary of their content.
