REC VRML files

REC Virtual presents virtual reality models of REC designs. This allows you to view REC design assemblies from many angles so that you can better understand how it is constructed. Design drawings are available for the components shown on this site. REC utilizes Parametric Technology's Pro/ENGINEER™ solid modeling software to build its designs. From these models, we can create VRML (Virtual Reality Modeling Language) files that can be viewed from your browser. Be aware that VRML files might be very large and that 3D viewing requires a computer with speed and memory. In general, this means you need:

A modern browser such as the newer versions of Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator;

A VRML viewer plug-in for your browser. These are normally free downloads from your browser maker's internet site;

A computer, monitor, and graphics board capable of displaying 3D graphics;

A computer with at least MMX speed; and

A fast modem connection or direct line to a server is helpful for quick file transfer.

Available REC VRML files

12-Volt Alternator Bracket for HMMWV. A 3D view of the modified HMMWV air conditioning compressor bracket that REC used for mounting a 12-volt alternator. Comes in as a view from the back. The alternator body is removed for clarity, however the alternator pulley is shown in position to give alignment perspective. Drawings are found in Project 56C. File size: 303 KB.

REC's Collapsible Fire Rake is available through GSA's Fire Catalog as NSN 4210-01-387-1392. This model shows the rake in its full open position. Drawings are found in Project 57. File size: 627 KB.

M548 12 Volt Alternator Assembly shows a bracket and pulley for mounting a 12 volt alternator to the existing 24 volt M548 alternator system. File size: 1,532 KB.

M548 800 Gallon Water Tank shows the water tank design for the M548 without the tank lid in place. File size: 1,389 KB.

M548 Cab Top shows the design for a steel tube and sheet cab to replace the standard canvas top normally found on the M548. File size: 184 KB.
